Give

In the Bible it says, "Give, and it shall be given unto you"
and the proverb tells us that "it is better to give than to
receive".

Now I'm not about to start preaching and your actual religious
beliefs are not important, but there is so much truth in those
two phrases.

You have learned in the previous two newsletters about asking
and being ready to accept. But don't ever forget the importance
of simply giving.

I guess I'm lucky because I'm one of those people who have
always taken more pleasure at Christmastime and Birthdays from
giving rather than receiving. Not that I'm not always grateful
for any gifts I receive. But to me it's great to see the
pleasure that others get from receiving my gifts to them.

If you're a parent you'll surely know what I mean.

But it goes far beyond that. It's not just talking about
material things, it's about being able and willing to give in
all the ways you can.

Give thanks,

Give praise,

Give help,

Give advice (at least to those who are open to receive it!),

Give your time,

and give it all freely!

And yes I know I'm supposed to be running a business and
making a profit, but the more you give the more you really
will receive. And believe me it works in business too!

It really is important.

Think about it, do you get annoyed if shop assistants fail
to thank you? Or do you perhaps have a boss who's always
quick to complain when you get something wrong but never
gives praise for all the times you get it right.

A word of thanks or praise can really lift you. And you can
do the same for others. Then when you see their reaction it
will give you a real buzz too! So we're all winners.

You will benefit in many ways as you'll be putting yourself
into a happy and positive frame of mind and ready to accept
all those opportunities waiting for you.

So try each day to give something. You will soon see how it
helps you.

Why You Should Use Your Dreams To Help Achieve Your Goals

Learning to set clearly defined goals is a must if you want to
move forward towards the realisation of your life’s ambitions.
But equally important is having a plan about how you are going
to achieve them. There are many ways to do this but one area
that is often overlooked is that of using the power of your
dreams.

One thing that we all have in common is that we all dream
virtually every night. We don’t always remember them but in
fact we usually dream between five and seven times. Over a
typical lifetime that adds up to something like six years of
dreaming. So it makes sense to be able to harness their power
to help you to achieve your goals.

Your dreams are the expression of the fears, anxieties, hopes
and emotions contained in your subconscious mind. They are the
symbolic representation of the information that is stored and
organized by your subconscious.

Your subconscious mind contains lots of information that is not
readily available to you when you are awake. Your dreaming mind
will reveal these hidden facts. This may be in the form of
secret desires or longings. Or unknown inner fears may be
discovered which, through the process of dream analysis, you
can learn to overcome.

Your dreams are an extension of how you really feel about
yourself. By recalling and understanding them you can increase
your self-knowledge, self-awareness and self-belief.

In your dreams you will confront and express your inner
feelings. So learning how to recall them, analyse them and
understand them will give you a more positive approach and,
for example, may help to make you more assertive.

Your subconscious mind is full of your inner fears and
anxieties. It contains many of the reasons for worry and doubt.
By recalling and then understanding your dreams you will be
better equipped to deal with the more stressful aspects of
your life.

Every day you have decisions to make. Some of them are simple,
like what to eat or what to wear. But there may be more
important decisions to make regarding matters such as
relationships or regarding your career. Recalling your dreams
and analysing their meaning will reveal wisdom that will help
you to make those life-changing decisions.

What’s more you can learn to influence what you dream about
and so focus on the important areas of your life. If you
concentrate on the goals you have set you truly can ensure
that they are reflected in the content of your dreams. You
just have to make sure that your subconscious mind is loaded
with information on the subject concerned.

You should use as much time as you can during your waking
hours to read about your topic. Watch films and DVDs and
research the subject on the Internet. Depending on the
subject, you may also be able to view maps, photographs or
works of art. All of this will help to prepare your mind for
dreams relating to your goals.

You can also try visualization to see yourself having
achieved your ambitions. Regard how you feel and examine the
benefits you have gained. Picture clearly the things around
you, especially if your goals relate to materials things like
cars or houses.

Visualization will be particularly effective when used near
to bedtime and as you lie in bed prior to going to sleep.
This will increase the chances of influencing what you dream
about.

The other method for feeding your subconscious mind with the
right sort of data is the use of positive affirmation. Use
short concise statements set in the present tense to
reinforce your objectives. Repeat them to yourself during
the day whenever you get the opportunity. Try also writing
them down and leaving them in a prominent position so that
you can read them.

Then as you lie in bed try repeating the statements to
yourself as you drift off to sleep. Concentrate on one
statement relating to one goal at a time to ensure the most
effective outcome.

Combining these methods will lead you to a fuller
understanding of your dreams and how you can influence them
to achieve your goals. So why not set a new goal today to
start taking your dreams seriously. Very soon you will see
the benefits as the achievement of your life goals becomes
much more realistic and attainable.

In my book I explain how you can learn to fully understand
your own dreams and how you can use them to help you to
achieve all of your goals in life.

Three Goal Setting Tips That Will Change Your Life
by Jim Klein

If you use these three goal setting tips you will be on your
way to creating the life you desire.

Goal Setting Tip #1: Where are you going?

This goal setting tip can be summed up with the title of a
book my father bought me on goal setting quite a few years
ago. The title of the book was "If you don't know where
you're going you'll probably end up somewhere else". Those
words have stuck with me all these years.

When you think about the title and realize that most people
have no idea where they're going or what they want. It's
really sad. Our minds are goal seeking computers. Just give
it a specific goal and it will work to complete it. However,
all most people have is vague wandering thoughts of what they
want. They've never written their thoughts down in a coherent
manner.

If you send a message to a friend you don't write the words
down in whatever order and expect them to figure out what it
says. Why do we do it to ourselves with what we want out of
life?

It's your job to write down on paper how you want to live.

Get out a piece of paper and start with your top 100 goals.
Start writing a list of the things you want to accomplish in
your life. I mean anything you can imagine, learning a
language, taking a trip, meeting a famous or not so famous
person. Write on that list everything from the littlest thing
like brushing your teeth twice a day to flying in the space
shuttle.

Keep making the list until you reach 100, however, don't stop
there. Carry the list with you and continue to write down
more goals as you think of them. It may take several hours or
days to complete this list. However, it's essential that you
do it.

Goal Setting Tip #2: Let's get specific

The second goal setting tip, get specific about the things
that you want. Take your top 100 list and start with the
easiest ones and write a more specific description of what
you want. If it's a car, what make and model, what color,
leather or cloth seats. If it's a trip, where are you
going, how will you get there and what will you see. If
it's money, be specific. How much, why do you want it and
what will you do with it when you get it. Remember,
BE SPECIFIC!

Goal Setting Tip #3: It's in the want to, you'll find the
how to.

Now let's discover the key to successful goal setting.
Why do you want it? Think about and write on paper why you
want each of the dreams on your Top 100 list. Get specific
and dig deep to the emotions and feelings that are behind
each one. It's in this step you'll find which ones you
truly are willing to pay the price to get and which ones
are not really important.

"The best way to predict your future is to create it".
- Chinese Proverb

In order to create your future you have to know what you
want to create.
